Twitter Double-counts Users (Again)

News of the recent $44 billion Twitter acquisition has made sweeping rounds across the internet. Interestingly, the platform Musk just agreed to purchase may not have as many active users as previously anticipated.

It turns out Twitter has been counting multiple accounts which are all tied to one user, many of which aren’t even active. Surprisingly, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen that mistake. Twitter realized their first miscounting error back in 2017.

We’ll see what happens to active user numbers with a new captain at the helm!
