Terminator
Congratulations. This year you moved the needle, made great partnerships, exceeded your quota, and you can leave your keycard by the door. Automation, AI, and our general fear of robots go as far back as Terminator 1, but the pandemic has again pushed things into hyperdrive.

According to Deloitte’s recent annual global survey of executives, 73% of respondents said their organizations have embarked on a path to intelligent automation: a significant 58% jump from the number reported in 2019.

The New York Times reports, “Before the pandemic, … some executives turned down offers to automate their call centers, or shrink their finance departments because they worried about scaring their remaining workers … But those concerns matter less now.”

Sales of automation software are expected to rise by 20% and McKinsey predicts that 45 million U.S. workers would be displaced by automation by 2030. With bots building their own bots, no one is safe.

We, for one, welcome our new robot overlords. We should sign a partnership agreement and map accounts.
